Welcome to the McQuery Family Homepage. We're a family of six with a variety of interests. Dad & Mom both work at the same company--dad in the main office and mom in the administrative office. Our four children are almost all teenagers now. Our oldest is a freshman in college, majoring in Music Theater. The other three attend christian school and are involved in soccer, football, chess, drama, and music. We fellowship at Westside Bible Chapel and between the six of us are involved in Sunday School, Awana Club, music, nursery, speaking, and Vacation Bible School.
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ--that He died for our sins and rose from the dead victorious as the Saviour of the world! (First Corinthians 15:3-4, Holy Bible) Praise the Lord that all we need to do to assure our Home in Heaven is believe these facts about Him, confess our sins and trust Him as Saviour! The "proof" of salvation is in the changed life of the believer--desiring to obey and please the Lord Jesus more than oneself. It is a constant recommitting of one's life to the Lord. (First John 1:9; Romans 12:1-2) My desire is for these webpages to glorify God.
On my banner above, I have used the phrase "God is faithful". This is partly in memory of my maternal grandmother, Florence McCullagh, who signed all of her letters with this phrase and believed it implicitly! I have grown up witnessing the truth of God's faithfulness to me and to others and can confidently say that no matter what life's circumstances may be, God NEVER fails!
We live in the Sunflower State of Kansas, also known as The Breadbasket of America!
Did you know that Wichita is the Aircraft Capital of the World? There are several aircraft plants in Wichita -- Boeing, Raytheon, LearJet, and Cessna as well as McConnell Air Force Base. The Mid-Continent Airport is also in Wichita.
Our city is surrounded by beautiful wheat, milo (maybe you know it better as sorghum), soybean and corn fields (can you tell my dad grew up on a farm?) and we can see for miles--no mountains obscuring the beautiful view! :-) I'm a Kansas girl and always will be, I guess.

Of course, with all the crops and grass and trees, there is also a lot of pollen blowing around--even from neighboring states, I've heard! I thought I'd let you check the current pollen count so you'll know whether it's "dangerous" to walk outside today or not. (For those with allergies, it is dangerous sometimes.)

Other interesting facts about Wichita? Well, the first Pizza Hut was founded here and the original (very tiny) building still stands on the campus of the Wichita State University. The Sedgwick County Zoo is one of the top zoos in the world! :-) Visit Exploration Place, Wichita's on-the-river science museum which also houses an Omni Max theater, restaurant and playground. Another great museum is the Old Cowtown Museum--full of history and great fun for children and adults alike! Right next to Cowtown, you can also visit Botanica and the Wichita Art Museum. The Museum of World Treasures is very interesting and has everything from a real live (I mean, dead) mummy to football jerseys worn by famous college players.
The Kansas Cosmosphere in Hutchinson is a wonderful museum with great exhibits! There are rockets, space capsules and a lunar exhibit with an astronaut, moon buggy and lunar module. The actual Apollo 13 command module is housed in the cosmosphere too. There is also an Omni Max theater. We love to visit the Kansas State Fair each September, another great attraction in Hutchinson. We have also enjoyed visiting the Scottish Festival held each September in McPherson. New in 2007, is the Kansas Underground Salt Museum, the working salt mine also located in Hutchinson. We visited it in September of 2007 and it was very interesting.
Our family highly recommends the newly-named (August, 2007) Prairie Wranglers. If you love good musical entertainment, you'll love this group! Since the Prairie Rose Chuckwagon is now history (not something that makes me happy), I assume the Prairie Wranglers will eventually be mentioned on the Old Cowtown website (see above) where they now perform.
Visit the Kansas Photo Tour for some photographs from our state. Learn about Kansas facts, including our state symbols.
Thanks for visiting us today!
